The Building Maintenance Program is a section within the Public Works Maintenance Services Division. The function of this section is facilities management, in providing services to twelve City buildings in Simi Valley.

In addition to providing custodial services to the City Buildings, this section is also responsible for the repair and maintenance of building facilities. This includes the mechanical, electrical, plumbing, air conditioning systems within the buildings and also includes such services as carpentry, locksmithing, and painting, utilizing both in-house and outside services.

The Building Maintenance Section has an active preventive maintenance program, to assure that the various building subsystems, as well as such things as the building roofs and door hardware, stay in good operating condition.

One additional goal of this section is to monitor and optimize power conservation programs, which are active in all facilities. This is an ongoing program which is under regular review.
