Welcome Corner Construction Slideshow

The City of Simi Valley demonstrates its duty to saving water and money by participating in the Metropolitan Water District's Turf Removal Program. The Turf Removal Program rebate program requires the removal of existing turf and replacement with permeable hardscapes, a minimum number of California Friendly® plants, wood mulch covering, installation of high-efficiency sprinkler heads and/or drip irrigation, and installation of at least one stormwater retention feature.

The Simi Valley Water Conservation Landscape Transformation Partnership Project includes several sites throughout the city. A recent and notable landscape transformation can be viewed at the Simi Valley Welcome Corner, located at the intersection of Madera Road and Los Angeles Avenue, for which more information can be viewed below. The City's Civic Center was also the recipient of a rebate to replace vast amounts of turf, and a website with details is forthcoming.
