The City of Simi Valley’s Affordable Ownership Housing Programs assist very-low, low, and moderate income households with the purchase or renovation of their homes through First Time Homebuyer Loans, Home Rehabilitation Loans, Quake Loans, and a multitude of affordable deed restrictions.

Required Annual Certification

Every year, program participants must demonstrate that they are following program rules by completing the Online Compliance Form and submitting all required documentation.

Participating homeowners must certify that their home is their primary residence and that they have appropriate insurance coverage including the City of Simi Valley as a loss payee, additional interest, or additional insured on the declaration page.

Additional Information Regarding Insurance

If the City of Simi Valley is not included in your insurance policy, please contact your insurance agent or your Homeowner's Association (HOA) to update your policy. For your convenience, fillable insurance authorization forms are available below.

Required insurance varies based on program type and property location. Certain properties/locations may require regular Homeowner's Hazard Insurance, Flood Insurance, Homeowner's Association Insurance, or no insurance at all. Please refer to your annual compliance notification for insurance requirements or contact the City to identify what insurance you are required to provide.

Annual Compliance Form

In order to successfully complete the Online Compliance Form, you must:

  • Have all owners present to electronically-sign the digital form.  Only one form is required per household. All owners must e-sign and certify the occupancy certification.
  • Each household should submit only one (1) Online Compliance Form.
  • Upload two (2) different utility bills (e.g. telephone, electricity, cable, or gas) dated within the last 45 days, showing your full name and address as a proof of owner occupancy.
  • Download the appropriate insurance form(s), complete and submit to your HOA or insurance provider.
